Integrated Malaria Control Phase II (IMCP II)

HABF in partnership with Shashi Kiran Charitable Trust is implementing the ‘Mooncatcher project’ in districts in Meghalaya, since June 2021. The MoonCatcher Project, based in New York makes and provides free reusable, washable menstrual pad kits or “MoonCatcher Kits”. These pads provide a way for girls to stay in school during menstruation, giving them a greater chance of completing their education.  Special awareness programs about Menstrual hygiene is combined with the distribution of kits.

Objective
  • Support to the National Vector Borne Disease Control Program in the malaria prevention and control program
  • Engagement of the private service providers in Integrated malaria control activities

  • Communities across 7 states in North-east India
  • Private (formal and informal) service providers across the states

Achievements

  • Malaria treatment and control services provided to 5661 villages in 49 districts in the 7 states in Northeast India
  • 1500 private service providers reached and trained on malaria prevention and control
  • Robust online Management information system developed for project management
